What to expect in a Heels Dance Class?

First, Heels are not mandatory! We welcome dancers to come take class in sneakers, socks, or barefoot.

Class begins with a brief warm up (without heels) consisting of stretches and body isolations that will help you feel grounded and comfortable in your body. We will then practice proper technique of how to walk in a heel, and end by dancing it out to a fun, sultry choreography taught in class. All movements are designed to help you unlock your unapologetic and authentic self expression.

** 30 minute Performance Workshop **
Every third Wednesday of the month we offer a post-performance workshop at the end of class where dancers have the opportunity to perform the choreography on camera and receive a professionally filmed video. There’s no pressure to film, you can simply stay and enjoy watching your fellow classmates perform.

Bachata Dance

Bachata is a popular Latin American music and dance genre that originated in the Dominican Republic in the 1960s. It has gained worldwide recognition over the past few decades. Bachata is a sensual and rhythmic dance that is easy to learn.

This fun class consists of:
– Warm up/ isolations / footwork
– One to two combos / patterns / choreography
– A little bit of free dancing practice time.

Instructor: Amy Wilson

Amy is a Singer/songwriter, dancer, and actress. She moved to NYC to study at NYU and American Musical Dramatic Academy. She is always on the move with a degree in musical theater and dance. Amy takes great pride in teaching and has been taking her classes to the next level for the last eight years in the Big Apple! The pleasure she receives as an educator, getting people up and active and using their creative side, is the best part of her job! If you love being in motion, reaching your full potential, and doing it all in a safe space, her class is a place for you!
