Our exciting Tiger Strong children’s Karate class is specially designed to help kids develop skills, camaraderie, and leadership in a fun and nurturing environment.  Led by our experienced and friendly instructors, this class will help your child develop essential physical and mental skills while instilling discipline and self-confidence.

Our kids’ karate classes are on the Upper East Side of NYC next to Starbucks at 80th Street. We are different than most other kids karate schools in the neighborhood. Our traditions date back hundreds of years. Traditional Karate instills a moral code of conduct of strength through kindness. Based on the philosophies you saw in The Karate Kid movies, our kids become confident people able to handle life’s stresses as they grow.

Active Studios NYC Kids Karate Class Dojo is brightly lit, clean, and safe for children. Parents can observe their kids karate class from our waiting area at the front of the facility. We offer two new bathrooms and a brand new state-of-the-art rubber floor for safety in addition to the larger floating wooden floor for the older children. Our instructors are high-ranking Black Belts with a family connection to the creator of The Karate Kid movie. 

The classes typically start with a warmup to stretch and strengthen the kid’s bodies. Basic Karate techniques such as blocks, kicks, and punches are drilled repeatedly. Kata, which are fighting dances, are memorized, and self-defense applications are taught. We end the kids’ karate class with a game to enhance physical dexterity and agility. The kids have fun!
